Learning Design Coaches: High Level of Commitment to Understanding for Teacher Candidates

In this video, Learning Design Coach (LDC) Kendal Schwarz speaks to the level of commitment with which Design Fellows and teacher candidates approach their work in the classroom. Ms. Schwarz attributes their curiosity about all the intricacies of a classroom and a school—from classroom management to parent and administration involvement—to their preparatory work with the WW Graduate School’s challenge-based curriculum projects.

Each teacher candidate at the WW Graduate School is paired with an experienced educator—the LDCs—in one of the partner school districts or out-of-school-time learning spaces. This clinical placement gives candidates carefully supervised but very real opportunities to practice what they are learning during their program work.
